Following is an e-mail I received from the Barr campaign. Counting back there were 68 days including election day from 8/27. This would mean if either B. Hussein or McCain was placed on the ballot it was done before they were nominated meaning that the whole nomination/convention process is just a huge promotional fraud and means absolutely nothing. Both parties are disgusting. It is time for a wake up call. If we don’t listen, God bless America.

Dear Bob,

As it stands now, Bob Barr is the Lone Candidate in the Lone Star State.

As the filing deadline passed this week, Bob Barr was the only presidential candidate legally certified on the ballot in Texas.

The new Texas law is clear:

A political party is entitled to have the names of its nominees for president and vice-president of the United States placed on the ballot in a presidential general election if . . . before 5 p.m. of the 70th day before presidential election day, the party’s state chair signs and delivers to the secretary of state a written certification of the names of the party’s nominees for president and vice-president . . .

Given that the deadline passed on Tuesday, Senator Obama was nominated on Wednesday, and Senator McCain has not even announced his selection for Vice President, the Republican and Democrat parties in Texas were technically unable to certify their candidates by the deadline.

However, I have a sneaking suspicion that the ballot situation in Texas will magically correct itself.

Since we sent out our release yesterday regarding Bob being the only presidential candidate certified in Texas, a spokeswoman for the Texas Secretary of State’s office stated that, “Upon further checking, both parties filed before the deadline.  We expect their amended filings after both parties finish their nominating process at the conventions.”

Upon further checking . . .

Hmmm . . .

As it turns out, upon further checking , we were able to collect 10,000 more signatures in West Virginia a few days after that early deadline passed.

Upon further checking, we found that ballot substitution is permitted in Massachusetts and Pennsylvania.

Also, upon further checking, we found that Maine stopped accepting our petitions a week earlier than they had done in the past.

Not to mention that, upon further checking, we do object to the state of New Hampshire insisting that two libertarian candidates for president be listed on the ballot.

Finally, upon further checking, we found that the signature thresholds in Oklahoma are a bit too high.

Will our diligence pay off for us in West Virginia, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, New Hampshire, Maine and Oklahoma where we have active interests?

Do you think that John McCain and Barack Obama’s names will eventually be printed on the ballot in Texas?

I would be willing to make an educated guess and say that we’re going to have to fight our hearts out to get on the ballot in the states above while the Republican and Democrat candidates won’t have to lift a finger to secure their place on the Texas ballot.

. . . that is unless we make a stand in Texas.

And that’s exactly what we’re going to do.

This situation in Texas is a perfect opportunity to highlight the double standard that exists in our nation.

Over the past several decades, Libertarians have spent millions of dollars, filed countless numbers of lawsuits while being sued countless numbers of times over their right to be on the ballot.  Thousands of people have put in their time, energy, earnings and passion in an effort that, in the end, simply allows a voter to see a candidate’s name printed on the ballot.

Throughout every battle that we engage in each election season, we must dot every “I” and cross every “T” or face the consequences of failure for our ballot drives.

Even when we follow the letter of the law, as we did in Pennsylvania, we still face challenges that drain our financial resources and strain our staff.

Should we give Barack Obama and John McCain a pass in Texas and look the other way?  Would they do that for us?

. . . I don’t think so.

If John McCain and Barack Obama want to bend the rules to get on the ballot in Texas, they’re going to do it with the Barr Campaign and tens of thousands supporters looking on and scrutinizing their every move.

If you want to join us and support our efforts in Texas and around the nation, now is the time to do it.

Our campaign is taking off with tremendous opportunity and we’re going to need your commitment to kick it into a higher gear.

I cut out the give a contribution part. Barr scares me on national defense but I agree on almost every other issue. I think McCain would be best on national defense and think B. Hussein would be best on Carter’s peanut farm.

I have made several posts about what is happening in Britain and saying it is coming here. This is the first I have heard of this incident. The mainstream press along with liberal congressmen can’t wait to make an issue of and condemning even the smallest incident involving our troops in Iraq. Why is anything involving Islam not brought to the attention of the American people when it is happening right here at home?

This incident was in March of 2006, over 2 years ago.

Both McCain and Obama, Republicans and Democrats are playing the tax game. Tax credits for hybrid vehicles, tax incentives for alternate energy, windfall profits taxes, corporations receive tax breaks and there are deductions for certain interest paid, child care and other items.

If I along with many others can’t afford to purchase a new vehicle much less a hybrid, how is it fair for me to be subsidizing someone that can? I don’t believe business should be given tax breaks to conduct their operations or incentives to pursue new products or alternatives. Business should stand on it’s own merits not a notion thought up by politicians or pushed by people in favor with government. If I cannot afford to buy a house why is it fair for someone who can to get tax deductions or incentives subsidized by me? Why should oil companies be told they should spend money to explore for and produce more oil but the government will take more than income tax from them in the form of windfall profits? If Bush gave back money as a stimulus and Obama is promising even more should it not be clear that (1) the government is taking to much in taxes or (2) they are giving you back that which was yours to begin with and will pay for it by taxing you?

There is no free lunch and the only fair thing to do is cut taxes permanently and reform a monster that is nothing more than the governments legalization of it’s own criminality by forcibly taxing those whom it is supposed to be representing. Only government can get away with forcing people to pay for a product that is dysfunctional, broken and doesn’t work for the purpose for which it was created. I am not saying that the government does no good, only that it is out of control and we need people that can put it back on track and it is not anyone currently there.

A Muslim separatist group in China has made a new video threat against the Beijing Olympics, warning Muslims to keep their children away from the games, a US group that monitors extremists said Thursday. Source

Maybe China, and Russia will wake up and see that it is not the US that is the enemy, but radical Islam. Perhaps they will change their thinking on Iran and it’s President Amanutjob. Not counting on it though.

This is in response to a comment I received. Yes, China is our enemy, so is Russia. Probably more economically than militarily. They are an organized society that can be reasoned and negotiated with. Providing we have the leadership that will negotiate with good sense. Islam on the other hand only cares about the destruction and collapse of the west. It has shown itself to be enemies of both China and Russia. Their leaders are as naive as ours and perhaps will wake up and see what it truly is. If not we must go the course on our own and protect ourselves from this radical Islamist cancer. The entire world must wake up and see Islam for what it is. The Olympics, the most important international sporting event is being threatened by this cancer. I donn’t pass on China and Russia as being enemies, but they can be reasoned and negotiated with. Radical Islam can not.

Energy independence – We`will never be able to control gas prices as long as foreign countries control the supply and cost of oil.

Increase domestic production – By increasing domestic drilling and refining capabilities, my plan will lower gas prices.

Develop alternative energy – My plan is a roadmap toa future powered by clean, renewable energy sources.

Clean and safe nuclear power – Nuclear power is already a source of clean, affordable energy. We need to make more of it.

In contrast the current congresswoman Kirsten Gillibrand mirrors the leadership of the Democratic party.

Here are two e-mails I recently received. The first was clearly meant as humor and brings out the point that what we are told by the media is very often not what really happened. The second although very plausible I have not, nor have I tried to confirm. If anyone has any knowledge of the second one regarding Obama, let me know.

New York Times reporter

A biker is riding by the zoo, when he sees a little girl leaning into the Lion’s cage. Suddenly, the Lion grabs her by the cuff of her jacket and tries to pull her inside to slaughter her under the eyes of her screaming parents. The biker jumps off his bike, runs to the cage and hits the lion square on the nose with a powerful punch.

Whimpering from the pain the Lion jumps back letting go of the girl, and the biker brings her to her terrified Parents, who thank him profusely.

A New York Times reporter has watched the whole event. The reporter, addressing the biker says, ” Sir, this was the most gallant and brave Thing I saw a man do in my Whole life.”

The biker replies, ” Why, it was nothing really, the Lion was behind bars. I just saw this little kid in danger and acted as I felt right.”

The reporter says, “Well, I’ll make sure this won’t go unnoticed. I’m a Journalist from The New York Times, you know, and Tomorrow’s paper will have this Story on the Front Page. So… what do you do for ‘a Living’ and what political affiliation do you have? “

The biker replies, “I’m a United States Marine and a Republican.”

The journalist leaves.

The following morning, the biker buys a copy of The New York Times to see if it indeed brings News of his actions, and reads on the front page:

This is what I expect to happen if Obama is elected and the do nothing Democrats remain in power in the Congress. These leeches on our society have left for an undeserved vacation without acting on an energy program. Below is a list of Pelosi-Reid legislation which has been beneficial to the American People.
