Have you noticed when you ask the CSR their name it’s always “Sam” or “Harry”? I ask them their names just for a good laugh. Sadly this is where American JOBS have gone to. Most of AOL is over in India now. They used to have two big call centers where I live employing a few hundred people who got good paychecks and fringe benefits. One day AOL shut it all down and told their employees they were moving the operation to India. I get so frustrated trying to talk to these CSRs from India. They CANNOT speak English! FYI the banks are now moving their call center operations to the same place! I found that out with my bank recently when I called CS and lo and behold I got an East Indian named “Sam.” Couldn’t understand one word he said.

What was so frustrating was there was a building about 10 miles from me and “VERIZON” was on huge sign on the top of the Building!

I have, like many, been through this! I had just set up my computer, the internet and was having problems. I called and talked to someone in India. I could not understand what she was saying, Finally, I said, “PLEASE! Put someone on the phone that speaks English!”
    “I am speaking English.”
Me: “Mam, I don’t know what language you are speaking, but it ain’t English. I want to talk to someone who speaks English!”

It took me 30 minutes of holding to talk to someone who I could understand!
