What happened to the Desert Tortoise, Cliven Bundy

The Cliven Bundy standoff has nothing to do with the desert tortoise but everything to do with a tyrannical government and agencies running amuck.  I’m not an expert on the desert tortoise and can’t speak for the validity of the comments but here are a few.

Tortoises eat droppings all the time, I bet they were feasting on the sheep’s back in the day.  Think about it, sheep are far more mobile and can carry the nutrients from far off grasses all over desert.  With the sheep the tortoises had access to a wider variety of nutrients than the stubble located around their den.  Manna from the gods

Also, the existence of sheep and cattle isn’t supposed to automatically kill the landscape, otherwise these grazing animals would have died off long ago.  They revitalize the land with their manure, duh.  Also, why would the tortoises be in more danger now with less grazing animals around rather than going extinct a long time ago?

Makes sense. No more buffalo, something else filled the void. Now no grazers, chain broken.
