Pronunciation. Today’s lesson.

Via an email from my cousin.

How do you pronounce this?

How do you pronounce this:  Le-a
SCHOOL TEACHERS, BET YOU THOUGHT YOU HAD HEARD AND SEEN IT ALL!
OKAY. How would you pronounce this child’s name?   Le-a (written just like that)
Leah?? NO     Lee – A?? NOPE     Lay – a?? NO     Lei?? Guess Again
It’s pronounced ‘Ledasha.’ Oh yes, you read it right.     This child attends a school in Livingston Parish, LA. Her mother is irate because everyone is getting her name wrong. SO, if you see something come across your desk like this, please remember to pronounce     It correctly.
When the mother was asked about the pronunciation of the name, she said, ‘The dash don’t be silent.’

Get it right people because as the mother says, “The dash don’t be silent.”

Good morning Bob. Surely you cannot make this stuff up. “Ledasha?” All of our taxpaying dollars that the mother is collecting and she could not take her ignorant behind back to school. Even worse, she has the nerve to get angry when people are unable to pronounce her daughter’s name. Sadly enough, “Ledasha” has been doomed to a lifetime of ignorance, courtesy of mommy dearest.

Good Friday to you, your family, friends and loved ones. God bless you all.
