EXTRA: Biden’s Speech, Not Watched By Many!

It may have been billed as “the biggest speech of his life”, but you’d never know by the number of people tuned in to watch Joe Biden accept his party’s nomination last night.

According to Neilsen ratings, there were a grand total of 21.7 million people tuned in to see Biden’s speech. That was just 300,000 more people than tuned in to hear Kamala Harris, Hillary Clinton, and Bobo Obama give their speeches the night before.

How did it compare to the past? Well, Hillary’s acceptance speech got 6.4 million more viewers in 2016. Obama’s speech in 2012 got 5.9 million more viewers, and Obama got 11.4 million viewers in 2008. When you look at the “adult population” (25-54) there were actually about 60,000 FEWER people watching Biden than Harris. Hillary had 4 million more people watching her acceptance in the 25-54 demographic in 2016 (9.5 million vs. 5.4 million)…
